
Miss Rachael Forsythe is a consultant vascular surgeon in Edinburgh, a NHS Scotland National Research Clinician and an honorary senior clinical lecturer at the University of Edinburgh. She trained in Edinburgh, Bristol and London and undertook travelling fellowships to centres of excellence in the USA including Stanford, Harvard, Duke and Houston Methodist. She undertakes a full range of arterial and venous operations in the NHS as well as working for UK Vein Clinic.
Miss Forsythe is the Chair of the Circulation Foundation and member of the Executive Committee of the Vascular Society of Great Britain and Ireland.
In her academic practice, she supervises PhD students, has a number of active research grants and is particularly interested in the assessment of vascular disease using molecular and cellular imaging techniques.
She contributes to reviewing and editorial work for high-profile international journals, has given keynote speeches at international conferences and has contributed to over 70 peer-reviewed publications.
