Varicose veins affect millions of people worldwide. These swollen, twisted veins often develop in the legs and can cause symptoms such as pain, aching, swelling, heaviness, itching and fatigue. Studies suggest that around 30-40% of adults will experience visible varicose veins at some point in their life.
At UK Vein Clinic, we know that this can significantly impact day-to-day life. Timely treatment can make a real difference, reducing pain, preventing progression, improving mobility, and confidence.

Although timely treatment can be life-changing, access is not always easy. With NHS waiting lists growing and demands on public services increasing, many people are left with limited options.
Whilst private treatment is available, we know this isn’t always an option for everyone.
That’s why we created the Legs for Living Fund – to remove financial barriers to care for people who:
Each year, the fund provides a limited number of fully paid for treatments, allocated through a fair and needs-based application process.
We believe everyone deserves access to safe, effective care that helps them live with full confidence and get back to what they love most.
The Legs for Living Fund has been developed for individuals who:
Whilst we’d love to treat everyone, we’ll always do our best to treat as many as possible. As we grow, we will look to add more availability. As a minimum 1% of our capacity will be dedicated to pro bono treatment.
Applications are reviewed by a panel to ensure support is given to those most in need, in line with our commitment to fairness, transparency and ethical practice. Applications are clinically assessed and reviewed for those who are most suitable and with the greatest need.
