1. Commitment to Achieving Net Zero

UK Vein Clinic Ltd is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 in accordance with UK Government targets.

As a national provider of diagnostic assessments and non-invasive varicose vein treatment services, we recognise our responsibility to reduce our environmental impact and continuously improve the sustainability of our operations, supply chain, and clinical service delivery.

2. Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline year: January 2024 – December 2024

‍Baseline emissions provide a reference point against which future reductions are measured. Our baseline assessment covered all operations across our 14 clinical and administrative sites in the UK.

*Scope 3 data are currently based on industry benchmarks and supplier averages. UK Vein Clinic Ltd is improving its supplier and travel data collection to enhance accuracy in future reporting periods.

3. Current Emissions Reporting (January 2025 - October 2025 – partial year)

Projected full year figure is 210.72tC02e, which represents an overall reduction of approximately 14.65% compared to our 2024baseline.

4. Emissions Reduction Targets

We are implementing a structured reduction pathway inline with our Net Zero 2050 target.We project thatcarbon emissions will decrease over the next five years as follows:

Long-term, ourNet Zero plan aims to achieve:              

• 90% reduction in operational (Scope 1 &2) emissions by 2040
  
• Net Zero across all Scopes (including supplychain) by 2050

5. Carbon Reduction Projects and Environmental Management Measures

The followingenvironmental management measures are currently implemented or planned. Theseapply during contract performance and across all operational sites.

A. Energy Efficiency

• Encourage the transition to renewable or green electricity tariffs
  
• Request transparency on the energy source mix and carbon reporting for common areas
• Collaborate on energy efficiency improvements (e.g., LED lighting, smart controls, HVAC optimisation)
• When opening new sites, we plan to prioritise tenancy agreements in buildings with renewable energy or green energy certification (e.g., EPC A/B rating, BREEAM, or ISO 14001–aligned facilities)

B. Renewable Energy

• Where possible, we will purchase RenewableEnergy Guarantees of Origin (REGO) - certified electricity for any separately metered spaces under our control
  

C. Travel and Fleet

• Use of local clinical staff wherever possible to minimise the impact of extended travel
• One stop assessment clinic where doppler ultrasound and consultation takes place during a single visit minimising unnecessary patient travel
• Video consultations and telemedicine used for non-face-face follow up and review to minimise staff and patient travel
• Travel policy prioritising public transport and car sharing
• Increase use of electric vehicles for courier delivery of stock and consumables

D. Waste and Materials

• Paperless care pathway connecting both the clinical and non-clinical pathways securely, seamlessly and safely with no paper documentation needed
• Recycling and segregation systems in all locations
• Work with consumable manufacturers to reduce non-recyclable plastics and unnecessary packaging

E. Procurement and Supply Chain

• Integration of environmental criteria into supplier selection
• Procurement policy in place to reduce single-use plastics and unnecessary packaging and favour sustainable alternatives
• Supplier sustainability questionnaires introduced in 2025
• Collaboration with medical device suppliers to improve end-of-life recycling
• Undertake continuous horizon scanning for new products with a lower carbon footprint and utilise these products where appropriate as a preferred item

F. Staff Engagement

• Ongoing staff training on sustainability and energy conservation
• Implement ‘Switch Off’ campaigns
• “Green Champions” network established across all sites to identify local efficiency improvements

G. Environmental Management System

• Certified to ISO 14001:2015, providing a robust framework for continual environmental improvement and compliance
• Annual external audits to verify compliance and track performance

6. Methodology

This CarbonReduction Plan has been completed in accordance with:

• •PPN 06/21 and associated guidance
• GHG Protocol Corporate Standard
• UK Government Conversion Factors for Company Reporting (DEFRA/BEIS)

Emissions have been calculated using a mix of actual energy data, supplier data, and standard emission factors where direct measurement was not feasible.

7. Explanation of Incomplete Scope 3 Data

Some Scope 3 categories (notably certain supplier-related emissions and indirect travel) are currently based on partial data or benchmarks. UK Vein Clinic is actively improving its data collection processes and will integrate full supplier reporting within the next reporting cycle (January to December 2026). This will ensure complete Scope 3 coverage by 2026.

8. Declaration and Sign-Off

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and approved by the Board of Directors of UK Vein Clinic Ltd in October 2025.
